In the presentation an assessment model based on portfolio developed during
a doctoral thesis between 2000 and 2004 is presented raising questions
about assessment criteria in visual arts with a particular focus on
development of ideas and experiments in the artistic process. The model was
implemented in Portugal through teacher training courses in the Portuguese
Art Teachers Association and had been applied by the teachers for formative
evaluation since 2004.
